Mary Anne Potts has worked in the adventure travel editorial space for more than eleven years. She started on the editorial staff of National Geographic Adventure magazine in 2001. She moved up the ranks there, including running the magazine’s website and launching its social media presence. Potts has continued to run Adventure as a standalone digital brand for National Geographic since 2010. She works with writers, photographers, filmmakers, athletes, and explorers to capture the dynamic world of adventure and exploration. She is a voting member on the National Geographic Young Explorers Grant Committee. Potts enjoys running, hiking, cycling, yoga, photography, and adventuring anywhere. This winter she plans to thoroughly investigate the effects of La Nina on skis. She is based in New York City.

As the editor of National Geographic Adventure, Mary Anne Potts stays closely connected to the outdoor industry’s top adventurers, explorers, filmmakers, photographers and writers to create award-winning storytelling about adventure and exploration — including scouting for the next Adventurers of the Year.
