Adventure

Adventure travel showing Tonya ziplining
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure, self-determined, self-motivated, often risky, forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world.”
– Mark Jenkins
Adventure travel encompasses a vast spectrum of experiences, extending far beyond traditional notions of adrenaline-fueled escapades. It can manifest as the quiet thrill of bird watching in serene forests, the pulse-quickening ascent of a towering peak, or the exhilarating rush of whitewater rafting through untamed rapids. Adventure is not solely defined by extreme physical challenges; rather, it is the pursuit of the unknown, the embrace of new perspectives, and the joy of discovery in every corner of the natural world. Whether scaling mountain peaks or observing elusive avian species, adventure invites us to step outside our comfort zones and immerse ourselves in the wonders of exploration.
It was a hot summer day when a friend of mine and I pulled into the parking lot of Sombrio Beach, on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We planned to be there for the day and set up a shady spot on the sand to enjoy our ocean views. We were hoping to see some wildlife — a bald eagle, a sea lion, maybe even a breaching whale.
When people think of the Galapagos Islands, their minds are immediately filled with the enchanting voice of David Attenborough and vibrant images of tropical landscapes bursting with life.
Lions and elephants are nothing fantastic. They are part of the DNA of the land and they are not page turners. There is an animal park on every road leading out of Johannesburg.

Shengjergj waterfall, which is locally called “Ujëvara e Shën Gjergjit”,offers an amazing 30-meters drop with breathtaking stratified rock formations surrounding the scenery. The water comes straight from the “Mali me Gropa Mountain” and is especially impressive during the fall-to-spring season, when rain increases and snow melts from the mountain tops.
Frisco, Texas, has steadily emerged as a prime destination for those looking for a mix of culture, adventure, and relaxation. Whenever the phrase "things to do in Frisco" is brought up in conversations, it evokes images of a city that offers a plethora of diverse activities, resonating with both its rich history and modern influences
In November 2021, my best friend and I decided to visit the beautiful country of Bulgaria. We knew Bulgaria isn’t really a place for winter vacation (unless you like skiing and snowboarding), but wanted to check out a specific destination: The Seven Rila Lakes!
Bedford Peak can be reached via a 12 km (7 miles) roundtrip hike and is located at an elevation of 1161 meters (3800 feet), offering an outstanding 360° view over the surrounding mountain range as well as the adjacent valleys. On days with good visibility, Lake Matthews can even be seen from there. I had a feeling this would be good, gratefully grabbed my purchase, and headed out.
‘Be careful. He is watching us’. Omkar whispers. He is one of the four naturalists of Reni Pani Jungle Lodge, just twenty minutes away from the buffer zone of the Satpura National Park, where we have put up for a couple of nights. This morning we started early from Bhopal, the capital city and after a smooth drive of three and half hours we arrived at the jungle lodge.

At the end of my second week of traveling through Namibia during the pandemic, I reached the most-anticipated stop of my journey within the Namib-Naukluft National Park: Deadvlei, a white clay pan that represents an inevitable stop for nature lovers and photographers. I will never forget the second I stepped into that arena-like plateau.
