    Travel with us to the summit of Monserrate above Bogota, Colombia.  The mountain is part of the Andes and is a focal point in center of Colombia's capital city.  It rises to 3,152 metres (10,341 ft) above sea level. At the top of Monserrate sits a 17th century church that houses a shrine devoted to "El Señor Caído" (Fallen Lord).  Monserrate is a pilgrimage destination as well as a tourist attraction and the top offers spectacular views of Bogota below.

    We welcomed a refreshing breeze as we stepped aboard the historic Skipjack Minnie V at Maryland's National Harbor. As one of only 30 skipjacks still in existence, this beautiful vessel provided us with a serene and unforgettable excursion along the Potomac River.

    One of our favorite spots offering an extraordinary view is located on the west coast of Ireland—the Cliffs of Moher. These almost vertical cliffs drop sheer into the heaving Atlantic Ocean, creating a haven for seabirds. From the top, you can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, the Twelve Pins, and the Maum Turk Mountains to the north in Connemara, as well as Loop Head to the south. The breathtaking panorama from the Cliffs of Moher never gets tiresome.

    The food in Israel is more than enough reason to visit the country. I probably gained 5lbs in the ten days I spent trying out the large variety of foods the country has to offer. This isn’t easy to do since Israeli food is so healthy.

In the end, I didn’t have to write a long list of recommendations for him, but it got me thinking. A lot of people pass through Madrid on their way to more popular destinations such as Mallorca and Barcelona, and more often then not they have plenty of time to kill.
