  • African Black Oystercatcher with Rainbow in Plettenberg Bay

South Africa is not the safest country in which I’ve travelled. It’s not the least corrupt. Or the most open-minded. But it is my favourite.

  • Homeland Security

An expansion of the U.S. travel ban, issued by U.S. President Donald Trump, is targeting a large swath of immigrants from six countries, including Nigeria. The ban is said to affect thousands of people, and could, once again, spark discussions about the discriminatory nature of the policy.

  • African mother|African student. Family in Africa

Having a family is truly one of the best feelings in the world. Your family is there for you when things look bleak, they provide the best guidance and advice when needed, and they will support you like no one else will.  But that support also goes both ways.  Those who live in a developed country like the United States or England are often called on to support family members in developing countries like Africa.  Not that a reason is needed to provide this support but here are four primary reasons for supporting family members in Africa.

  • gorilla

On gorilla treks tourists are always advised to take photos from a safe distance and not worry about the Gram because they are leaving more than footprints. Curious adventure travelers are not heeding the rules many continue to get close to gorillas for the Gram but these irresponsible travelers are also infecting the endangered species. Two apes died due to the infection. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda and Rwanda have labeled the mountain gorillas as being endangered and estimated there are just [...]

  • Aldabra Giant Tortoise on Desroches Island

If you ever saw an Aldabra Giant Tortoise, you’d think it was a dinosaur, as they look as if they came from another time period. And, it’s possible that’s true. After all, they can live to be more than 100 years old and weigh up to 300 pounds. Of course, seeing the actual Aldabra is difficult due to the excessive number of restrictions put on visitors.

  • wildebeest migration

The Great Wildebeest Migration is considered of the world’s most incredible natural events, and it’s happening earlier this year. The largest wildlife migration is one of the most popular natural events to see in Maasai Mara, Kenya. While the migration takes place throughout the year, the wild beasts cross Mara River in July and August. And, they’re already being seen there now. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is more than 580-square miles of protected land for wildlife, but visitors often come to the area between July and October to witness the natural wildebeest migration phenomenon. One of the reasons the migration is considered one of Africa’s Seven National Wonders is the sheer number of animals that travel to Maasai Mara National Reserve from Serengeti National Park – over two million of them from zebras, gazelle and elands. It’s not uncommon for many of the 250,000 wildebeest that travel not to [...]

The new city became a thriving political and economic center, as well as a multicultural and multiethnic crossroads.

This can affect your trip to be a bit more pricey than any other unpopular place that you could go to.
