When travel writing is your profession, adjusting to a new normal of not traveling can be tough and even downright weird. The Covid pandemic has caused massive changes in our daily lives and it has surely affected the way we used to travel then and now. The lifestyle changes have been abrupt and too quick.
To understand the impact that COVID-19 is having on the travel journalism community and to gain some insight into what the future of travel may hold, we spoke to an award-winning veteran travel writer, Tim Leffel. He is author of The World’s Cheapest Destinations, Travel Writing 2.0, and the living abroad book A Better Life for Half the Price. He has circled the globe three times and dispatched articles from five continents. He has lived abroad in Turkey, Korea, and Mexico.
Tim Leffel publishes multiple blogs and online magazines including Perceptive Travel –an online resource for independent travelers. He splits his time between Mexico and the U.S. and he joined us from quarantine in Mexico.
