The Answer:  The voice of Thurl Ravenscroft The actor who sang “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch,” is Thurl Ravenscroft, who may be best known as the voice of Tony the Tiger who exclaimed, “They’re GREATT!” in the TV commercials. Although Ravenscroft was also part of the chorus on two other songs in this Christmas Classic (which happens to be a World Footprints favorite), he received no screen credit for his singing of the title song.  This was a gross oversight that Dr. Seuss attempted to rectify by sending letters to every major columnist in America identifying Ravenscroft as the singer on “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”.
